09.03.2017

The "Youth in the crossroads of cultures" conference was organized by two local county governments in central Estonia in the beginning of March. The central issue of the conference was identity and culture. In the frames of the conference, Eve-Liis Roosmaa and Marge Unt introduced the results from EXCEPT Project to an audience consisting of youth, educators and local politicians. The presentation by Marge Unt was titled “The ups and downs of becoming an adult in Estonia and Europe” and gave some statistics to frame the situation of youth in Estonia, compared to other European countries. The presentation by Eve-Liis Roosmaa introduced the qualitative interviews done with youth and the first results of the analysis on autonomy centring on the meaning of being adult. To involve the audience and to create a personal connection they had some time to think and discuss about the meanings of adulthood. The EXCEPT Project photo exhibition was presented as part of the event.
