EXCEPT Estonian team will hold a discussion “The charm and pain of becoming an adult in Estonia and Europe” at Opinion Festival, an event which was visited by almost 10,000 people last year.

Young peoples entrance into the labour market can be more complicated than expected due to a lack of education, preferences of employers or the changing expectations of young people themselves. At the same time, being unemployed at a young age can affect young peoples’ independence, health and ability to cope financially. A panel of scientists, employers, representatives from the Unemployment Insurance Fund, as well as youth, will discuss the worries of young people entering the labour market and the expectations of employers. The situation of Estonian youth will be compared with other European countries.

The mission of Opinion Festival is to improve opinion culture and civic education. The festival is open to all active-minded people in Estonia, as well as elsewhere. The fourth Opinion Festival will be held at the beginning of August in Paide and will host 160 discussions.
