Joint EXCEPT-CUPESSE presentation at ISA-RC28 Summer Meeting
04.09.2015

The joint work of EXCEPT researcher Jonas Voßemer (University of Bamberg) and CUPESSE researcher Bettina Schuck (University of Heidelberg) on “Better Overeducated than Unemployed? The Short- and Long-Term Effects of an Overeducated Labor Market Re-entry” was presented by Jonas Voßemer (BAM) at ISA-RC28 Summer Meeting  at The University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA.

Analyzing the German Socio-Economic Panel (1984-2012) the authors conclude that taking up a job that is below ones level of education is associated with higher long-term employment chances, but also higher risks of being locked into overeducation.
